The Sukkot Next Generation Camp & Trek offers an inspiring entry-level challenge for young participants, taking place in the Lake District over Sukkot, 12–13 October 2025.

This unique experience begins with a private visit to the Lake District Holocaust Project (LDHP), where participants will learn about the Windermere Children. From there, we trek to the historic Calgarth Estate, where these boys began to rebuild their lives.

Over two days, participants will walk 20km, self-cater, and camp under canvas beneath the stars. They will partake in sessions covering navigation, hill safety, survival skills, and group leadership.

Set in a landscape rich with meaning, this journey also offers space to reflect on the teenage experiences of the Terezín survivors. Participants will also be encouraged to support a charity of their choice through fundraising, making this a meaningful and empowering Sukkot adventure.

Prices from £99 to £199 depending on accommodation type future treks are planned for Sukkot and Half Term 2025.

To give you an idea of the standards the programme matches the requirements of the various Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme level, therefore all students are to self-cater and camp or stay in basic accommodation.

As it is the festival of Sukkot, we will start with building a lakeside traditional sukkah.

    Next Generation Programme

The Regenesis Next Generation programme partners with outdoor activity providers to offer like-minded students a progressive journey. This may begin with beginner hill and moorland hikes, and culminate in the 90km Windermere Route in Prague, designed for Sixth Form students and beyond.

This unique pathway is built to steadily develop personal resilience while immersing participants in meaningful Holocaust education. Along the route, students visit key memorial sites, engage with guest speakers, and reflect deeply on history, humanity, and their own capacity for growth.

Students from any Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Centre will be able to join our residential events. Our leaders are highly trained and safety-focused, ensuring that every aspect of the programme is delivered to the highest standard.
