Accommodation & Food
In line with DofE criteria, we’ll stay in basic accommodation: shared dorms, bell tents, teepees, or bring your own tent.
You’ll cook in teams and enjoy kosher meals, prepared together (food supplied).
Activities Include
- Hike in the footsteps of the original Boys
- Night-time navigation skills
- 1 water-based adventure activity (+£25)
- Certified Outdoor & Paediatric First Aid Course (+£25)
Volunteering
As part of this experience, you’ll volunteer with the Lake District Holocaust Project, including taking on roles at the Lakes School on 14th August for the official commemoration attended by dignitaries and descendants.
This is more than a camp – it’s a living tribute.
You’ll meet some of the surviving Windermere Children, their families, and hear from the Producer of the BBC/Warner Bros. docudrama, alongside a granddaughter of one of the Boys.

Only 18 spaces available. DofE rules limit friendship groups to 4.
Led by Experts
The programme is run by outdoor professionals, including Mountain Training-certified leaders, Search & Rescue personnel, and DofE Supervisors/Assessors, alongside experienced youth mentors.
